As a member of the congregation, Rev. Lily White (she/her) has been a part of the UBC family for over twenty years. Lily is a recent graduate of Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University, where she earned her Master of Divinity with a Baptist specialization. During her time at Perkins, she was recognized as a Baugh Scholar and served as a student ambassador for the Baptist House of Studies Board of Visitors. She was also a member of L@s Seminaristas, an ecumenical Latiné student group committed to justice and community-building in ministry. Drawing on 14 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Lily brings a deep passion for creating spaces of radical welcome and belonging, particularly for those whom the church has historically marginalized. She and her wife, Kris, recently celebrated 30 years together, love to travel, and share their home with two beloved cats, Maeve and Nina.
